"Maa da rishta sab tor Sachaa Maa da rishta sab tor Vada Maa hai rab da Roop" Welcome to Harjinder Kaur Singh tribute fund. As most of you would know my dearest mum severly suffered from Motor Neurone Disease for 2 years and passed away at the young age of 55 on 19th May 2005. MND is a rare incurable illness that 2 in 100,000 people suffer from. Mum's MND progressed very fast and quickly and lost the ability to speak, swallow, stand, walk – in fact, to do most of the things we all take for granted. Such a well educated, very talented, unique special individual, who means the world to most of us. One of her most powerful talent was writing original shabads, poems, kavtas in her own words which she was greatly proud of. All her poems inspired us in some way and has made a difference in our lives at some point. I have this opportunity to share with you all a verse from one of my mum's favourite poems called " Tasveer Kisdee?" meaning “whos picture?” "Phool khiriya te aisdee mehek khiree dhoor dhoor thak aisdee khushboo gahi husan vehkeh ais da noor khiriya aakha vich jad ehdee tasveer gahi. Tasveer kisdee? " As you can all now imagine how deeply mum goes in her poems. She is talking about an unseen and imaginative picture but whose picture is it? “tasweer kehdee”. We all tend to have an imaginary world but how many of us use this natural gift in a positive way to learn something out of it. Mum is tryin to describe a picture that she can see and feel. She telling us how beautiful this picture is by using different metaphors such as “khushboo’, ‘mehak’. This ‘tasveer’ is an unseen picture a bright flame that exsits in each one of us. We need to keep this flame lit and realize how bright it can get to show us the true path and honest living. Aswell as writing, she loved cooking, gardening and sewing, and most of all shopping, although she was always willing to do more. Mum had a wonderful personality, so caring, loving and down to earth, always there to make others smile and laugh. To save another such valuable life we need your help. Me and my family would greatly appreciate it if you could offer a small donation or help us raise money for this tribute fund. All money goes to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which with all your help hopefully within time we can find a cure for this devestating illness. May Wahaguru bless her peaceful soul. Regards, Daughter Dipz
